The river VRBAS is a major river in western Bosnia and Herzegovina and the main river of Banja Luka. With its dark green color and
beautiful landscapes that creates in its course, it is one of the most beautiful rivers in BiH. The river Vrbas and its canyon in
this region will offer you the chance of living an adventure that you have never experienced before. It is one of the most suitable
rivers for water sports in BiH, especially for rafting and kayak-canoeing. It has been the location for prestigious European Rafting
Championship 2005 and will be the host of World Rafting Championship 2009. Here you can try rafting, kayaking, mountaineering,
climbing, mountain biking, speleology, paragliding, canyoning and other adventures, as well as swimming and fishing, too.
The river is rich with fish like trout, grayling and huchen. Also, the river Vrbas has its own specific boat in this area called
Dajak, named by the pole that is used for pushing the boat. Rapids, cascades, beaches and steep rocks, springs, speleological
objects, cultural and historical monuments, rich biodiversity and a very good traffic communication, make this area very special.
