Srpske Toplice is a place with thermo-mineral springs situated only 6 km from the city centre. This is just one of the areas with
such springs in the Banja Luka region, which have been used since the Antique period. At the bank of the Vrbas, where the thermal
spring waters mix with the cold waters of the river, there is one of the most popular beaches of Banja Luka, named Vrućica.
By its springs, you can find the plant population of Vilina Vlas (Adiantum capillus veneris L.) that represents a living tertiary
fossil, a real rarity in Continental Europe. Beautiful place to spend some time for rest and recreation.
Eco-centre Ljekarice is located between Banja Luka (40 kilometers from the city) and Prijedor (30 kilometers from the city), south of
the place called Omarska. You can get there by the highway from Banja Luka or from Prijedor through Omarska or by the railway from the
same places to Omarska. Very favorable natural factors enrich this eco-centre with evergreen forests that not only provide a multitude
of the fruits of the forest, but also big and small game.
The nearby wells, streams and lakes offer the possibilities of recreational
fishing and swimming. The eco-centre also has a maintained running paths, sport fields, camping site and restaurants with homemade
healthy food.
Lake Balkana as a tourist and recreational centre is one of the most beautiful picnic grounds in Krajina region. It is located 65 km
southwest from Banja Luka, and 4 km away from the city of Mrkonji? Grad, placed in the vale of mountain Lisina. Balkana is consisted
from two lakes, the big one and the small one, which are fed by small mountain streams Cijepalo and Skakavac. The temperature of the
water in July and August is about 20?C, so it is very favorable for swimming.
Tourist infrastructure of Balkana, with the motel, restaurant and bungalows are intended both for summer and winter recreation. Beside the
lake, there are basketball, football, handball, sand volleyball grounds, as well as barbeque and camping places, walking routs, etc.
